Located next to the Industrial Poultry Unit (Unidade Industrial de Aves – UIA4) of Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial, in Marechal Cândido Rondon-PR, Astrea transforms poultry slaughter waste into high quality inputs for the animal feed and pet food industry.
Astrea was formed in 2011 by a group of New Zealanders committed to bringing innovation to the slaughterhouse waste processing industry in Brazil. With the best technology and an innovative business model, aligning the interests between slaughterhouse and meal mill, their industry can process material from up to 350,000 chickens per day.
In Brazil, Astrea was a pioneer in low temperature processing, ensuring low energy consumption, adding more value to the meat processing plant, with total product traceability and minimal environmental impact.
With its commitment to invest in people and technology, Astrea will continue to be a center of excellence in slaughterhouse waste processing in Brazil and throughout Latin America.
